Hands-on learning in Holtville FFA happens in many different ways across our classes. In veterinary science, students practice dissections on a baby goat to explore anatomy firsthand. In floral design, students create their own arrangements, learning design and plant care by doing.

Members also gain experience caring for animals by interacting with kittens and learning proper handling. In science labs, students build projects using materials like balloons and straw to demonstrate concepts such as fluid movement. And in horsemanship classes, students practice riding and handling horses to build real-world skills.
These examples show that hands on learning in our chapter takes many forms, letting students engage directly with animals, plants, and projects to develop practical skills and experience.
