Officer Teams
What is it?
The Junior officer program is for Greenhand and Discovery members. In October, many young Holtville FFA members make the choice to try out for office. After an extensive interview and application. A student board deliberates and both a Greenhand and Discovery officer team are chosen. This program is all about mentorship. The chapter officer team serves as their individual mentors throughout the year. They are taught how to facilitate, run events, and learn more about public speaking.
Greenhand Officer Team
The Greenhand officer team is usually freshmen or first year FFA members with their Greenhand degree. Throughout their year they help the chapter officers in various ways. Whether that's annually doing OC at a chapter meeting, helping with officer committees, or helping run Ag Day.
Discovery Officer Team
The Discovery Officer team is filled with Holtville 7th and 8th graders. Like the Greenhand team they are a crucial part of our student leadership. They help with countless things throughout the chapter. They assist in officer committees, run OC at winter banquet and help in various events when needed. This experience teaches the life long lessons about teamwork and public speaking.
